I’m the founder, author and host of Single Mom Nation, a site focusing on girlfriend-to-girlfriend advice on self-care, co-parenting, dating and relationships, style and expert tips for single mothers and divorcing women. I am also host and producer of the podcast Single Mom Nation.

I appeared on Oprah's Super Soul Sunday Life Class on single motherhood, sitting a few feet away from Lady O on a panel of single moms led by Iyanla Vanzant. Here's a clip.

I've won some lovely awards for my writing, including #3 Relationship Blog, Top 50 Mom Blog and Top 100 Mom Blog. My own authored posts have garnered more than 40 million page views, and 40,000 comments. Perhaps you remember my pink shoes? I blogged for a decade at Sassafrass, where the high-heel logo spoke to my still-raging shoe obsession.

Real-life lady

I've been a thriving single mom for more than a decade. I wear inappropriately high heels to the playground, am mom to an 13-year old awkward breakdancing, Tae Kwon Do-ing, stand-up comic son and a fiery, booty-shaking preschooler affectionately known online as Boss Lady. I'm #blessed to have a chef boyfriend who keeps a list in his cell phone of all the foods I will never eat (#mayonnaise #cottagecheese). I respond to both Jessica and Ashley.

Single Mom Nation is where single mothers of all experiences, women seeking divorce, ending a relationship, deploying with the military or supporting a deployed parent, who feel alone in a marriage or partnership, who are considering parenting and relationship options or some other circumstance that lifts them up as the primary person raising a child - it is where we can all meet to get girlfriend-to-girlfriend advice, generously support each other, where we can laugh, sob, be sassy, feel safe and get real.
