Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, the perfect couple it's kind of hard to believe stayed together for nearly two decades, have split. Citing irreconcilable differences, Griffith was the official divorce filer and seeks sole physical and joint legal custody of their 17-year old daughter, Stella (who turns 18 in September). Griffith and Banderas pushed past rumors of marital discord in 2012 and following the filing, released a flowery statement which sounds a lot like something The Uncoupler's publicists wrote up: In a statement sent from their rep, the couple says, "We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together." Either Griffith and Banderas really, truly are friending this out (and we really, truly hope they are) after 18 years together, or their gazillion-dollar an hour L.A. attorneys are laughing their asses off as they prepare for very, very billable client relationships.
Jennifer Lopez and Caspar Smart's relationship "came to a natural end," says a source, which is convenient phrasing for all the celeb goss writers who'd been poised at their laptops to come up with something quippy to type since the 47-year old and 27-year old began dating publicly. Together for two-and-a-half years, the pair who share equally great hair and brows reportedly ended it about six weeks ago. The "friend"-source not-surprisingly used the word "young" repeatedly in describing the break-up. Also not a shocker? Everyone's apparently waiting for Smart to move out of JLo's home.
